Tuju says he took a calculated tactic to evade suspected police trailing.
Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju, who also served as Jubilee Party Secretary General, resurfaced on Monday after going missing on Saturday night.
Mr Tuju went missing at the time he was expected for an interview at Ramogi FM.
His car was left unattended along Miotoni Lane in Karen, Nairobi.
On Sunday, his family received a call from Karen Police Station informing them that the car had been found, but Tuju and his driver Steve Mwanga were still missing.
The reports sent shockwaves across the country, with leaders--including ODM party leader Dr Oburu Oginga--urging President William Ruto and the state machinery to ensure that Tuju is brought back to his family unharmed.
But when he resurfaced on Monday, he said he took a calculated tactic to evade what he called trails of people he believes were police officers in a Land Cruiser.
“Police officers have been to my residence without number plates on their vehicles, so I saw no logic in going to report to them,” he said.
