Education CS Julius Migos Ogamba has ordered schools across the country to stop sending candidates home for school fees.

He said the candidates are set to commence their exams and there is no need to pester them with fees now.

“I have already communicated this…that no student should be sent home. If it is school fees, school heads can explore other ways of recovering the money, but not chasing the students home,” Mr Ogamba told AVDelta News on Saturday.

The government, he noted, will not hesitate to punish any school head flouting the order.

"The instruction from the ministry is clear and if someone is doing the contrary, then we shall revist and quick punishment meted out," he warned.

The CS spoke exclusively to AVDelta News on phone on Saturday.

Also outlawed are extra levies from schools. He said no school head will be left unpunished for asking for more money than stipulated in school guidelines.

"I am hoping that no parent is going to tell me they have been charged extra money because no school should be doing so, "the CS stated.
