Safina Party on Tuesday launched an intensive campaign in Kariobangi North, placing its MCA candidate Chris Wandera, popularly known as Dangote, at the centre of its mobilisation ahead of the upcoming by-election on November 27, 2025.

Speaking during the meeting, Safina Party Leader Jimi Wanjigi called on residents to join the party, describing Safina as “Noah’s Ark” that welcomes everyone seeking change and effective leadership.

“Safina is a place for all who want to see Kariobangi North progress. We are here to deliver leadership that listens and acts,” he said.

Deputy Party Leader Willis Otieno told attendees the party is prioritising Wandera because of his deep connection with the community and his record of engaging directly with young people in the ward.

“Chris understands this community. He listens to the people and that is the kind of leadership Safina stands for,” he said.

Safina Secretary-General Joakim Simiyu added a humorous twist while encouraging members to support Wandera. Referring to the party’s motto "SafiNaPesa", he said Dangote’s entry into the race completes the party’s message and direction.

“SafiNa, SafiNaPesa — our promise of clean leadership and economic empowerment. And now with Dangote joining this journey, we finally have the complete mix of energy, integrity and vision that Kariobangi North needs.”

Wandera addressed supporters, asking voters to give him the mandate to improve services and strengthen representation in the County Assembly. He highlighted long-standing neglect in the ward and promised accessible, accountable leadership.

“I’m ready to work for the people of Kariobangi North. I want to bring clean leadership and ensure residents get the services they deserve,” he said.

Campaign organisers highlighted that Wandera, a Gen Z politician, brings energy and fresh ideas, particularly appealing to younger voters. The mobilisation effort includes door-to-door visits, community meetings, and social media engagement to connect with residents.

Supporters at the meeting expressed optimism that Dangote represents a new, community-rooted approach capable of delivering practical solutions to the ward’s challenges.

Safina Party said it will maintain a high-intensity campaign over the coming weeks to ensure a strong showing for Wandera in the by-election.
