DPP pushes Police, Ipoa to act on abduction cases

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga has demanded accountability from the Police and the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (Ipoa) regarding recent abductions.
At least three(3) individuals--Bill Mwangi, Peter Muteti Njeru, and Bernard Kavuli--have gone missing in December 2024.
Mr Ingonga expressed concern over these incidents, calling them “grave matters of public interest.”
In a press release on Sunday, the DPP directed Ipoa and the National Police Service (NPS) to expedite investigations.
“The files and updates must be forwarded within three(3) days to ensure swift action,” he stated.
This follows public outcry over delayed responses to such cases.
