The Chairman of Kamwana Foundation in Matungulu sub-county, Samuel Mwanza has donated food items to over 1,200 vulnerable people in the region.

The items were given to needy people in Kisukioni, Nguluni, Matuu, Kyanzavi, Katangini, and Kalatine locations, as palliative to mark the Christmas celebrations.

His donations come at a time when many Kenyans are faced with a myriad of challenges, especially the rising food prices.

Mr Mwanza while distributing the foodstuffs on Tuesday at his home ground in Kisukioni location, said the initiative was aimed at reaching out to the less privileged people in the community during the Christmas celebration.

He stressed that the death and resurrection of Christ signified God’s love and sacrifice for mankind, stressing the need to extend the same love to the vulnerable in the society at all times.

He noted the foundation had been helping vulnerable people through his empowerment outreach to alleviate their suffering especially from the current economic hardships.

”The humanitarian gesture is part of our foundation’s vision to reach out to the less privileged and the vulnerable people in order to alleviate their suffering in their time of need and it will continue as a way of improving the wellbeing of the indigent in the society,” he said.

Mr Mwanza also called on wealthy individuals to assist the needy during Christmas season and beyond in order to emulate Christ’s love for mankind by reaching out to the less privileged in the society.

One of the beneficiaries, Ms Ruth Mutua, thanked the foundation for extending the to people during Christmas celebrations and always.

”We are grateful to chairman of Kamwana Foundation, Mr Mwanza, for remembering the vulnerable people and giving us food to eat during this Christmas and several other times. May God bless him,” Ms Mutua said.

The items distributed include cooking oil, rice, baking flour and seasonings, among others.
