Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has unleashed a scathing attack on former governor Dr Alfred Mutua and his former Chief of Staff Mwengi Mutuse for their criticism of her government, telling them to keep off the affairs of Machakos County.
The two have been traversing Mumbuni North Ward in the past one month, campaigning for the Maendeleo Chap Chap candidate while criticising Governor Ndeti’s leadership, terming it as devoid of development.
During final campaigns on Monday, Governor Ndeti, who was accompanied by her Deputy Francis Mwangangi, Senator Agnes Kavindu, Senator Wambua Kiio (Kitui), Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kamene, Irene Kasalu (Kitui Woman Rep), several Wiper Party MPs including Robert Mbui (Kathiani), Thaddeus Nzambia (Kilome), Joshua Kimilu (Kaiti), former Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka, Young Wiper Patriots National Organising Secretary Swaleh Abraham, and Lawyer Ndengwa Njeru, along with several MCAs, spoke at various stop-overs across Mumbuni North Ward as they wound up the campaigns for the Wiper Party candidate Mr Antony Kisoi.
“Mutua brought Mutuse from Makueni and another called Mbai from Kitui. He did not even employ people from Machakos. He does not love you. Mutua, keep off from Machakos. When you were Governor, I did not interfere with you,” said Governor Ndeti.
She said CS Mutua was of no use to President William Ruto.
“Mutua, you are a greenhorn. Even Dr Ruto is wasting his time on you. He doesn’t know you are of no use to him," she said.
She alleged that Dr Mutua is not a grassroots person who can passionately engage in community activities.
"How will you help him get votes?” posed the governor.
She said she was not in competition with Dr Mutua, as the competition was between President Ruto and Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Governor Ndeti said former Chief of Staff in Machakos - Mutuse - had misappropriated resources from Machakos to campaign for the Kibwezi parliamentary seat and should not think the people are fools to support his project.
She asked the people to reject the Maendeleo Chap Chap candidate in the ballot on Thursday.
Similar sentiments were voiced by Kathiani MP Robert Mbui, Deputy Governor Mr Mwangangi and Senator Kavindu.
