Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said they are planning a court room face off with the Kenya Kwanza government over the controversial Adani Holding-Jomo Kenyatta International Airport lease deal.

The entire Adani-JKIA deal, Mr Musyoka said on Friday, smells of sleaze and graft adding that they are now directing every resource at stopping the controversial deal.

This, he said, would save Kenyans the agony of financial wastage the Ruto government was now known for .

"First I laud your son here Senator Richard Onyonka for showing statesmanship by questioning this suspicious deal early enough," Mr Musyoka said.

Waging a vicious war against the deal, Mr Musyoka said, only signals the fresh bid aimed at injecting fiscal sense into the Ruto administration

"Let's meet in court… it is going to be mess… no guess work. I know we shall score it big against this level of state impunity," Mr Musyoka told mourners.

The former Vice President further warned police against impunity and extrajudicial killings, saying such things continue to stain the service.

He was speaking in Kisii during the burial of former Bomachoge Chache MP Simon Ogari.

Former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa, who accompanied Musyoka to Kisii said it was unfortunate President William Ruto was fighting  his deputy.

"Today as we were coming here, we heard DP Rigathi Gachagua accusing Dr Ruto of calling him a snake. For us we know the snake of corruption, not this name-calling we are witnessing lately. We must fight the snake selling off Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, fight impunity… not calling each other snakes," Mr Wamalwa stated.

He said the Raila exit from Kenyan politics would not dampen the fight for justice and the welfare of the nation.

"As co-principals we shall still remain in the trenches and continue the fight to the bitter end for the common welfare of our people. Nothing shall change," he said.

Mr Wamalwa further railed the Kenya Kwanza government leadership accusing it of overtaxing its people to the bare bones.

Kisii Governor Simba Arati said ODM was still independent and it only loaned a few of its lieutenants to salvage the Kenya Kwanza government.

Matungulu MP Stephen Mutinda, who was also present, said as legislators, they would not abandon the vigil in keeping check the government.

"We shall stand firm to ensure that the common man would not continue being squeezed in the anvil of the Ruto economy. Those of us with voices must raise up the cry for our people so that they can get reprieve from the life  Ruto is enslaving them in," he told mourners..

Leader after another eulogized the late Ogari as a selfless and one who immersed himself in the service for humanity.

DAP-K patron Eugene Wamalwa described Ogari a dedicated Catholic who they fondly referred as a priest during his tenure as MP.

Matungulu MP said Ogari was a dedicated and an honest man.

Arati said though given to his favourite cigar, Ogari served his electorate with devotion and diligence.

Senator Richard Onyonka described Ogari as worth emulating.

Current Bomachoge Chache MP Alfa Miruka delivered President William Ruto's eulogy who termed Ogari a friend of the government

The former ODM legislator passed on at his Karen home on September 10, 2024, aged 68.

He was a quantity surveyor before leaping into politics in 2009.

He got elected on an ODM ticket, hounding out the then MP Joel Onyancha in a by-election.

Later he got re-elected in the newly created Bomachoge Chache constituency.

At some point, he served  as Assistant Minister for Trade for Information and Communications between 2012 and 2013.

In his retirement from active politics, he retreated to active consultancy as a Quantity Surveyor in Nairobi.

His family, in a eulogy said, he had suffered a respiratory infection which worsened his health over the years culminating in his sudden demise last week.

He was survived of seven (7) children and six(6) grandchildren.

Dr Edna Ogari, described her dad as one with rich compassion.

“Dad was deliberate and consistent in loving all of us and in doing so i received the gift of belonging,” she stated in the eulogy.

Eng Anthony Ogari described his dad as a mentor, hero and friend.

"From building houses, he taught us how to build relationships, how to excel in all that we do and yet stay humble," he stated.

Constantine, an advocate, termed his dad an anchor to the family and constant voice of reason.

"Your time on earth was short but immeasurable on the impact you made," he eulogized.
