Eight MPs endorse Kalonzo for President 2027

Eight(8) Members of Parliament have expressed confidence in Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the most suitable person to lead the opposition in challenging President William Ruto for the top seat in 2027 General Election.

The MPs Vincent Musyoka Kawaya (UDA, Mwala Constituency), Stephen Mule (Matungulu), Robert Mbui (Kathiani), Patrick Makau (Mavoko), Benjamin Gathiru alias Mejja Donk (Embakasi Central), Robert Basil (Yatta), Charles Nguna (Mwingi West), and Thaddeus Nzambia (Kilome) spoke at the burial of MP Mule's mother Philomena Mueni in Katangini village, Matungulu Constituency on Saturday.

Mwala MP Mr Kawaya said it was strange to hear some young people expressing support for Dr Fred Matiang'i, whom according to the MP, was in charge of Internal Security when many bodies were retrieved in River Yala under unclear circumstances.

Mr Kawaya stated that the only person in the opposition who has no scandal is Wiper Party Leader Mr Musyoka.

"I'm surprised by some people who are praising Dr Matiang'i. For what business? During the tenure of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, the same fellow was blamed for murder of people whose bodies were dumped into River Yala. Let's be honest with ourselves. Among those people (in opposition), the only clean person is Mr Musyoka,"said Mr Kawaya.

He also dismissed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as a ‘tribalist’ saying he differed with him the moment the former DP talked about government being a shareholding company.

“The Akamba people deserve development from the government even if they didn't vote for it,” he said.

Mr Nzambia said there was no need to waste time looking for an alternative leader to replace President Ruto as Mr Musyoka was fit for the job.

"We have a leader to take over in 2027. Even MP Kawaya, who is a leader from the ruling UDA, has acknowledged that Mr Musyoka is not corrupt," said MP Nzambia.

The Kilome MP said Mr Musyoka as president would unite the country since he is experienced, truthful, and incorruptible.

Mr Nzambia also said employed Kenyans including teachers were pained by increased taxation which had greatly reduced their purchasing power.

He said teachers were the backbone of the rural economy and raiding their payslips was hurting the local people and the rural economy.

His Yatta counterpart--MP Basil--urged the people to register as voters in large numbers so as to change the leadership of the country.

He also called on the youth in the Ukambani region to apply for and get National ID cards in readiness for the 2027 General Election.

He lamented that the youths always fail to get ID cards and voter's cards in time and yet complain afterwards that elections have been rigged.

"We have the numbers to change the political direction of this country as long as all those who have attained the age of 18 years and above acquire national identity cards and register as voters," the lawmaker said.

Mejja Donk from Embakasi Central said the Kenya Kwanza administration has no moral authority to seek re-election in the 2027 general election.

“Kenyan politics have turned out to be designed for deceit. The current regime has done all the bad things Kenyans never expected of a government. Citizens have been deprived of their dignity and it's now time to have fresh leadership in place,” the MP said.

Mejja Donk said Mr Musyoka, Mr Gachagua, Dr Fred Matiangi, Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and other like-minded Kenyans, were ready to transform the country’s leadership.

“It does not matter who we will support, it doesn’t even have to be a Kikuyu. Our principals have committed to Kenyans that they will agree on a formidable candidate to unseat President Ruto and I urge leaders across the country to unity," he added.

Kathiani MP--Mr Mbui--said it was Mr Musyoka’s time to get rid of the oppressive regime and restore dignity for Kenyans and bring the much needed change in the country.

“2027 is the time for Mr Musyoka to unite Kenyans and bring change in the country through leadership that's determined to end corruption,” said Mr Mbui, who is also the Wiper Party Organising Secretary.

MP Mule expressed gratitude for messages pouring in following the death of his mother Mueni.

Mueni, who was 85 and a retired teacher, died two(2) weeks ago after a short illness, according to the lawmaker.

MP Mule, who is also a doctor, thanked people and his colleagues for their kind words and condolences regarding his mother Mueni's passing.

“It gives our family great comfort knowing she lived a good life and is now at peace,” Mr Mule said.
