Champs Swamibapa 'A' cling to NCCA T20 lead on flawless weekend

Defending champions Swamibapa ‘A’ extended their unbeaten run in the Nairobi County Cricket Association (NCCA) T20 League with two strong weekend victories, staying top of the Super Division standings.
Led by Sachin Gill, Swamibapa 'A' defeated Nairobi Gymkhana ‘A’ by five wickets on February 14 and beat Sir Ali by 26 runs on February 15, stretching their winning streak to eight matches.
Against Sir Ali, Harendra Kerai starred with 91 off 54 balls, earning Best Batter and Player of the Match. Swamibapa posted 178 for 7, while Peter Koech claimed four wickets to bowl Sir Ali out for 152 in 18.5 overs. Sir Ali had a poor start, losing Faraz Ahmed for a duck and captain Gurdeep Singh for one.
Captained by Sunny, Sir Ali remain second with 12 points from eight matches, boosted by Saturday’s dominant nine-wicket win over Ruaraka.
Swamibapa ‘A’ and Sir Ali will meet again in Qualifier 1 this Saturday for a place in the final on Sunday, 1 March 2026. Ruaraka, the reigning 50-Over champions, remain winless at the bottom of the table after another loss, struggling with limited squad depth following the absence of overseas players.
Stray Lions ‘A’ and Sikh Union ‘A’ were eliminated from knockout contention after key losses. Kanbis ‘A’ kept their hopes alive with a commanding win over Stray Lions ‘A’ and later secured an eliminator spot. Batsman Hiren Kabariya powered Kanbis with 68 off 23 balls to earn Player of the Match. Despite earlier defeats to Sir Ali, Swamibapa and Sikh Union, Kanbis advanced after their abandoned fixture against Gymkhana.
SCLPS YL ‘A’ further dented Stray Lions ‘A’ with a nine-wicket victory, while Ngara SC ‘A’ edged Ruaraka ‘A’ by three wickets, handing Ruaraka an eighth straight loss.

In Division One, Sir Ali ‘B’ topped the table with nine wins despite a loss to Legends CC ‘A’. Weekend victories over Ruaraka ‘B’ and Swamibapa ‘B’ secured their knockout place. Kanbis ‘B’ sit second, two points behind.
In Division Two, Stray Lions ‘B’ and Nairobi Jafferys lead Groups A and B respectively, with Stray Lions ‘B’ defeating Wolves CC by six wickets on Sunday.
